Joan Bruce, LMFT

  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

After focusing many years on her family, church, and civic endeavors, Joan strongly desired to further her education and skills, to offer help and hope to others. She studied and received her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University. She found it personally beneficial to receive her life experience education prior to her clinical training. Joan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Tennessee and has been part of the BabbCenter team since 2010.  She has had additional training in grief recovery, Emotion-Focused Couples therapy, Brene’ Brown’s Daring Way, and EMDR.

Joan enjoys working in a systemic way–looking at a person’s quality of relationships and how life stressors are managed. She partners with clients to meet their goals, such as seeking personal growth, finding a supportive environment to explore thoughts and emotions, increasing coping or relationship skills, or working through stuck places.

Joan has called Nashville home for most of her adult life. She is married and has two adult daughters, one son-in-law, and three grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, adventuring with the grandchildren, and playing bridge and word games.
