You may have hit a lull in the conversation because you have talked about everything that easily comes to mind. These moments of together time are quickly evaporating and before you know it, this special break will be over. Here is an idea to break through these times and continue connecting with the ones you love.
Simply assign one person to ask the questions, but everyone can participate in responding. Each person should only give one answer—usually the first thing that comes to mind is the best or funniest answer.
Use these conversation starters or come up with your own:
- Name one must-have item you keep in your purse, pocket, or backpack wherever you go.
- If you could change your eye color, what would it be?
- For snack attacks, what’s your fave—salty, sweet, or savory?
- What was your most-loved cartoon when you were a child?
- Besides ketchup and mustard, share 3–5 toppings you must have on your hamburger.
- If money was no concern, where would you want to travel to for vacation?
- Verbally, create the perfect ice cream sundae.
- Which word makes you feel the happiest: Beach, mountain, desert—and why?
- Favorite thing to do, eat, or drink on a cold, rainy day
- Favorite Halloween costume you’ve ever worn
- All-time favorite pizza place you’ve eaten at, and what made it so good?
- Funniest joke you can tell right now
- Name three states (or countries) you hope to visit someday, and why?
- What’s your favorite item to pair with peanut butter?
- If you had a million dollars, what’s the first thing you’d buy?
- Favorite movie you’ve seen in the past three months
- Who are you voting for in November? (Nah, skip this one!)
- Best/funniest road trip experience ever—where’d you go? What did you do?
- If you could jump backward or forward in time, when would that be and why?
- One thing you hope to do, see, or purchase when we finally get to our destination
