Out of work? Struggling in your current job? There’s hope. It is possible to find an enjoyable, fulfilling career.
Dave Ramsey, financial business leader writes: “No matter what shape the economy is in, it’s important to be in a career you love. If you are just working a J-O-B, then you’re going to be unhappy.” And according to a Gallup Poll: “The percentage of U.S. workers in 2015 who Gallup considered engaged in their jobs averaged 32%. The majority (50.8%) of employees were ‘not engaged,’ while another 17.2% were ‘actively disengaged.’ ”
In essence, the average American employee lives for Fridays!
Work is a good thing??
In contrast to what most of us feel like day-to-day, we read throughout the Bible that our daily work is a good thing! King Solomon, the wise author of Ecclesiastes, wrote these words: “Every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—it is the gift of God” (Ecc. 3:13 NASB).
The apostle Paul also reminds us in Colossians 3:22 that, “Whatever you do, do your work heartily as for the Lord rather than for men.”
We find hope in God’s design for us—which includes our career choices—where we read in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
