Easter is a fun holiday to celebrate with children. But beyond egg hunts and brightly-colored Spring clothes, sometimes it’s hard to know how to experience (and explain) the true meaning of Easter with younger kids.
Other than taking them to church on Easter—which is a great thing to do—consider additional avenues of educating your children about this special holy day.
Books are a great way to bring focus to Easter in ways that may be difficult for parents to express in their own words. Simply by pulling out a few books to read with younger children in the weeks leading up to this holiday, parents can enlighten their kids to the meaning behind some of the “church-y” words kids might hear otherwise. And bonus—this can be done in the comfortable setting of your home where you can explain words and concepts to them in more age-appropriate ways.
